Originally completed without the flowers in 2021-2022, titled “The Bearded Man”. I was satisfied with how it was previously but this year, 2026, I have taken a look into my past. Not only taking time to revamp a few pieces but also revisit some lessons learned.
“ Flourish “ resembles the first piece painted on a 5 in x 6 in canvas in my college dorm room, 2019. Taking the origins even further back. The idea for this piece came from my love for love and romance. Then my family kept saying the lips resemble my brothers.
So now we zoom out and refocus on the journey. The idea started small but I used what I had at that time to complete it. Then, I did it on a larger canvas with a new medium. From acrylic to oil. It was sooooo difficult lol. It was new for me.
I learn. I grow. I flourish.
