In Bloom…
I am in bloom. Flower buds and even some flowers are starting to appear. A lot of times we don’t stop to smell the flowers. Sometimes we do and even so, it is only for a mere moment. Forgetting all it took to grow in the first place. Being that it all starts in the ground, it easily goes unnoticed.
Take a moment to be present. To be here. To grow well.
Living in New York presented a lot of opportunities to make art, to share it and be alllllll up in it. Florida….. not so much but doom scrolling once in a while actually yields fruit. The Brevard Collective Night Market. This type of event felt like what I’ve experienced in NY and is….was
So the painting began. I applied and paid the fee with no “market” art. (Smaller pieces. easier to carry as they make their way around.) Sept 22. I figured out how I wanted to improve from my previous event experiences. I usually incorporate flowers in my work because they represent growth, regrowth and transformation to me. How their seeds can be taken by the wind and new life can begin somewhere new!
AND THEN… I saw the flyer for the event itself and it of course is Halloween themed. So when this happened in NY I went to work on Halloween themed art. Ghost, pumpkins. The cutest little pieces lol. BUT THEN I got to the event and no one else had halloween nothing! Everyone was like oh you really like halloween. Do you normally make art like this? Referring to the two ghost having a date outside a coffee shop under the witch decoration at this HALLOWEEN EVENT!!!!!! lol whatever.
Never again will I bend like that! Or at least for that reason. I didn’t go as bright as I planned. I like what I did.
So I am in bloom again. Orchid-esk if you will.
The event happened but I will give more information on the event page….
